San Qi (Pseudoginseng Root, Notoginseng Root)
Latin Name: Radix Notoginseng
Properties: sweet, slightly bitter, warm
Actions: stops bleeding, transforms blood stasis, reduces swellings, alleviates pain
Medical Indications: vomiting blood, coughing blood, blood in urine or stool, nosebleed, traumatic injuries, hemorrhagic disease, painful swellings, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, angina, acute sore throat, dizziness
Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy
Caution: to be used with caution in cases with Yin or blood deficiency
Dosage: 1 to 3 grams
