Latin Name: Rhizoma Sparganii

Properties: acrid, bitter, neutral

Actions: breaks up blood stasis, moves Qi, alleviates pain, dissolves accumulation

Medical Indications: blood stasis, painful menses, absence of menses due to Qi stagnation or blood stasis, postpartum complications, abdominal masses, abdominal pain due to food – or Qi stagnation

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in patients with hypermenorrhea

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
