Hai Tong Pi (Coral Bean Bark, Erythrina Bark)

Latin Name: Erythrinae Cortex

Properties: acrid, bitter, neutral

Actions: opens channels and collaterals, relieves itching, promotes urination, reduces edema, kills parasites, relieves toothache caused by dental caries

Medical Indications: rheumatoid arthritis, muscles pain in low back and knees, edema due to dampness, itching skin lesions such as scabies, toothache

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of blood deficiency

Dosage: 6 to 12 grams
