Guang Fang Ji (Stephania, Aristolochia Root)

Latin Name: Radix Aristolochiae Fangchi

Properties: bitter, acrid, cold, toxic

Actions: expels wind damp heat, relieves pain, promotes urination, reduces edema

Medical Indications: diffuse pain in joints, pain due to wind damp or wind damp heat, dysuria, edema

Contraindications: none

Caution: to be used with caution in cases with Yin, spleen, or stomach deficiency, large dosages or long term use can be toxic to kidneys

Dosage: 4.5 to 9 grams
