Guan Zhong (Cyrtomium Rhizome)

Latin Name: Rhizoma Cyrtomii

Properties: bitter, slightly cold, toxic

Actions: reduces intense heat, removes toxins, cools blood heat and arrests bleeding, kills parasites, removes stagnation of food

Medical Indications: skin infections due to damp heat, mumps, uterine bleeding after labor, abdominal pain caused by parasites, pruritus in the anal region, hepatits B, boils

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in patients with recent history of ulcers

Dosage: 4.5 to 9 grams
