Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger Rhizome)

Latin Name: Radix Zingiberis Officinalis

Properties: spicy, hot

Actions: evaporates the exterior, rids of coldness, warms the middle, expels interior cold, warms lungs, transforms phlegm, alleviates stuffy nose

Medical Indications: cough, cold phlegm, arthritis, vomiting, brost bites, sore mouth, chronic diarrhea, pain in chest and abdomen, lower back pain, itchiness

Contraindications: not to be used in cases with internal heat from Yin deficiency, not to be used in cases with bleeding due to heat in blood, not to be used during pregnancy

Dosage: 1 to 3 grams
