Latin Name: Sclerotium Poriae Cocos

Properties: sweet, bland, neutral

Actions: drains dampness, reduces swellings, causes diuresis, transforms phlegm, tonifies spleen Qi

Medical Indications: edema, urination difficulties due to damp heat, diminished function of spleen, diarrhea or loose stools, low appetite, lethargy, insomnia, restlessness, dizziness, palpitations

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy

Dosage: 9 to 15 grams
