Fo Shou (Finger Citron Fruit, Buddha’s Hand)
Latin Name: Fructus Citri Sarcodactylis
Properties: acrid, bitter, warm
Actions: spreads and regulates liver Qi, harmonizes stomach, strengthens spleen, stops cough, transforms phlegm
Medical Indications: stifling sensation in chest, pain in rib cage, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, belching, hiccups, lack of appetite caused by weak digestion, chronic cough with phlegm and chest pain
Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy
Caution: to be used with caution in cases of Yin deficiency with heat signs
Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
