Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root, Ledebouriella Root)

Latin Name: Radix Saposhnikoviae Divaricatae

Properties: acrid, sweet, slightly warm

Actions: induces diaphoresis, dispels wind, alleviates rheumatic conditions, relieves spasms

Medical Indications: common cold with headache, body aches, and stiff neck, urticaria, tetanus, rheumatic arthralgia, migraine headaches

Contraindications: not to be used together with Gan Jiang, and Li Lu

Caution: to be used with caution in cases with Yin and blood deficiency

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
