E Zhu (Zedoary Rhizome)
Latin Name: Curcumae Zedoariae
Properties: acrid, bitter, warm
Actions: eliminates blood stasis, promotes flow of Qi, relieves pain, removes stagnation of undigested food
Medical Indications: blood stasis, amenorrhea, abdominal pain and fullness, chest and abdomen constriction due to food stagnation
Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in blood heat patients
Caution: to be used with caution in Qi or blood deficiency and excessive menstruation
Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
