Latin Name: Gelatinum Corii Asini

Properties: sweet, neutral

Actions: tonifies and enriches blood, stops bleeding, nourishes Yin, moistens lung

Medical Indications: myasthenia, myoatrophy, dizziness, palpitation, insomnia due to deficiency of blood, anemia, uterine bleeding, bloody vomiting, bloody cough, bloody urine, bloody stools, irregular menstrual cycle, insomnia, vexation, palpitation due to Yin deficiency, chronic cough due to TB

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases with blood stasis, diarrhea, or external symptoms as in flu

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of spleen and stomach deficiency

Dosage: 5 to 15 grams
