Du Huo (Doubleteeth Pubescent Angelica Root)

Latin Name: Radix Angelicae Pubescentis

Properties: acrid, bitter, slightly warm

Actions: removes heat from blood, counteracts toxicity, promotes blood circulation, dispels wind-damp, relieves pain

Medical Indications: back pain, joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, headaches, fever, chills, aches in muscles, toothache, aversion to cold

Contraindications: not to be used in cases with liver wind

Caution: to be used with cautin in cases with Yin or blood deficiency, on overdose can lead to poisening and death

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
