Latin Name: Radix Codonopsis

Properties: sweet, neutral

Actions: reinforces Qi, invigorates the function of spleen and lung, corrects blood deficiency

Medical Indications: weakness of spleen and lung with symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, anorexia, palpitation, and diarrhea, diabetes due to internal heat, lack of appetite, fatigue, thirst, vomiting, prolapse of stomach, uterus, and rectum

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of infection of the digestive system, not to be used together with Li Lu

Dosage: 9 to 30 grams
