Dai Zhe Shi (Hematite)

Latin Name: Haematitum

Properties: bitter, cold, slightly toxic

Actions: calms liver, purges away heat, relieves vomiting, sends adverse flow of Qi down, cools blood, arrests bleeding

Medical Indications: asthma, excessive bleeding during menopause, chronic diarrhea, gastric neurosis, dizziness and blurry vision due to liver Yang over activity, vomiting, hiccups, vaginal yeast and bacterial infection

Contraindications: not to be used long term

Caution: to be used with caution during pregnancy

Dosage: 10 to 30 grams
