Da Qing Ye (Wild Indigo, Woad Leaf)

Latin Name: Folium Isatidis

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: removes toxic heat, cools blood, reduces skin macula

Medical Indications: epidemic, contagious diseases such as influenza, pneumonia, mumps, dysentery, and meningitis, inflammation of throat, erysipelas, skin eruptions and blotches due to severe heat in blood

Contraindications: not to be used in weak patients

Caution: Caution in cases of cold from spleen and stomach deficiency

Dosage: 10 to 30 grams
