Chuan Wu (Aconite)

Latin Name: Radix Aconiti Preparata

Properties: acrid, hot, toxic

Actions: restores Yang, improves fire, disperses cold

Medical Indications: profuse sweating with low body temperature, muscle spasms in cholera, chronic diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, chronic muscle or joint pain caused by wind cold dampnes, pain and cold in chest and abdomen, pain and tightness in joints and muscles, edema and coldness in lower legs due to kidney Yang deficiency

Contraindications: none

Caution: raw Chuan Wu is very toxic

Dosage: 1.5 to 12 grams
