Chuan Bei Mu (Tendrilled Fritillaria Bulb)

Latin Name: Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae

Properties: bitter, sweet, slightly cold

Actions: clears away heat and moistens lung, relieves cough, reduces sputum, disperses nodules

Medical Indications: dry, chronic cough due to heat phlegm, lung or breast abscesses, sores, scrofula, goiter, swellings, and nodules

Contraindications: not to be used in cases where cough or phlegm is caused by damp or cold

Caution: unprocessed Chuan Bei Mu is toxic, do not use internally

Dosage: 3 to 10 grams
