Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel)

Latin Name: Citrus Reticulata

Properties: bitter, acrid, warm

Actions: regulates the flow of Qi, harmonizes middle Jiao, dries dampness, dissolves phlegm, stops cough

Medical Indications: excessive phlegm, abdominal fullness, flatulence, belching, nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, loose stool, chest oppression, dyspnea

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of Qi and Yin deficiency

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of bleeding or vomiting blood

Dosage: 4 to 12 grams
